headcanons; What Earth remained after "Crisis on Infinite Earths" (1985)? What is the 'New Earth' that emerged after "Infinite Crisis" (2005)?
The original infinite worlds of the multiverse were ravaged by the destruction wrought by the Anti-Monitor. By the time he was defeated, the only remaining worlds were Earth-One, Earth-Two, Earth-Four, Earth-S, and Earth-X.
Those five remaining Earths -- their histories, their survivors -- were all combined into a single universe. This was the gestalt Earth, post-Crisis.

This is the world that our Eddie Bloomberg (Kid Devil), originally from Earth-One, ended up in. This is the world that Jason Todd (the version who stole tires off the Batmobile) originated from. And it is not the world known as New Earth. The gestalt Earth existed until Alexander Luthor of Earth-Three attempted to recreate the infinite multiverse, until it was replaced by a new and different Earth with an altered history.

New Earth is part of the Orrery of Worlds, a multiverse consisting of 52 worlds that are each watched over by one of the 52 Monitors who came into existence after the events of "Infinite Crisis". New Earth is the world of origin for the Eddie Bloomberg who would eventually make a deal with Neron for superpowers and be known as Red Devil.
Eddie and the Institute of Hyper-Normal Conflict Studies
At the end of his first series of adventures, Kid Devil’s parents agreed to leave his education and supervision in the hands of a trio of professors from the Institute of Hyper-Normal Conflict Studies -- Dr. S.W. Kirschtorte, Dr. Irving Bleinseid, and Dr. Elvira Coddleston.
They taught him a lot about mechanical engineering and gadgetry, and also assisted in updating his power armor suit (to the all-red form as seen in "Young Justice" volume one).

When the device built by Alexander Luthor and Superboy-Prime threatened the stability of the gestalt Earth, the professors and their young protege attempted to understand and counteract the phenomenon. The idea was to create a protective field that would keep their Earth from being changed... however, things happened too quickly for such a large countermeasure. Instead, Dr. Kirshtorte pushed Eddie into the test chamber they were able to build, just as they ran out of time. As New Earth came into existence, an energy wave swept the world... the Institute was wiped from history, and all the people who came together and worked for it were relocated as their histories changed... except for Earth-One's Eddie Bloomberg. He was left alone in a test chamber in an otherwise abandoned building, with his history and memories intact.
Multilingualism
Eddie's native language is (American) English. He learned Hebrew as part of his Jewish heritage.
He gained fluency in German and Spanish while living at the IHNCS.
He has limited experience in French, Arabic, and Mandarin Chinese but has a "tourist" level of understanding... he can hold a conversation, especially if he has a translation dictionary in hand.

Bio page that partially pulls from his entry in the "Who's Who" guide to DC Comics characters
Both of these links include information on the New Earth version of Eddie Bloomberg, which is past the canon point that I pull him from. I will provide any clarification needed on the difference between this player character and canon as requested.

PERSONALITY
SUPERBIA might sometimes operate on logic beyond that of inferior organic minds, but its judgement is never wrong. WHAT MAKES SUPERBIA THINK YOUR CHARACTER IS PRIVATEER MATERIAL?
Eddie is an engineer, first and foremost, and engineers are all problem-solvers at their core. He has a brilliant and curious mind. And, like all the superheroes of the original Earth-One, Eddie also possesses the ability to simply roll with any sort of strangeness that he is presented with. Literally nothing is too weird for him to handle, mentally speaking.

Fortuna is always described as being capable of granting any wish, but its exact nature is unknown. DEEP DOWN, WHAT DOES YOUR CHARACTER WANT IT TO BE THE MOST?
Eddie doesn't have any particular expectations for the form that Fortuna takes. He's very curious to find out what it actually is, and hopes that it will be able to grant the wish that he holds most dear... but what form does a way home actually take?

SUPERBIA only desires to prove the existence of the Lucky Star; its privateers are free to do whatever they want with it. IF YOUR CHARACTER GOT THE TREASURE, WHAT WOULD YOUR CHARACTER DO WITH IT? WHY DO THEY WANT TO FIND IT?
Eddie hopes that Fortuna is a way to restore the home he lost, somewhere in the multiverse, so that he (and any other survivors) can return to the world that he started out in -- the original Earth-One.

Treasure-hunting is not for the weak of heart. WHAT IS YOUR CHARACTER WILLING TO RISK, AND WHAT ARE THEY WILLING TO SACRIFICE?
The world that SUPERBIA pulled Eddie from, the world in which he currently lives, has nothing for him. New Earth is different from the gestalt Earth created from the surviving worlds of the Crisis, and New Earth has its own version of Edward Bloomberg now. They share a history and memories, but they are not the same. Eddie would rather die than become that person, a weak-willed and desperate shadow with his face -- and if death is what his quest for Fortuna demands, so be it.

POWERS AND ABILITIES
Eddie has roughly seven years of experience in combat (basic hand-to-hand and staff forms). He is skilled in mechanical engineering, gadgetry, and weaponry (as involves circa-21st century technology). He also has knowledge of and some experience with the multiverse (alternate dimensions, travel between, et cetera).

Any "powers" that he displays are technology based. The "Kid Devil" costume is, despite appearances, a form of power armor. It increases the wearer's strength by a factor of ten and allows him to leap great distances. The armor within the suit will stop small arms fire, though "a high-powered rifle shell can penetrate his armor" (basically, if the bullet and gun in question could kill large game, it's going to get through the armor of the suit). The suit also contains several adaptive features such as night vision, built-in lighting (which can be used in a defensive 'light burst' measure) and miniature gills for aquatic environments.

The trident that Kid Devil carries is a rocket-powered method of transportation that also contains weaponry -- most notable a "bubble shooter", flamethrower, and electroshock capabilities. ("Several miles" is all the detail we get for the distance that the rocket-trident can travel. I'm assuming that's the distance before it needs to be recharged, and for the purposes of specificity call it five miles per 'charge' of the power source, with the distance lessening if there's more weight than just Eddie being carried.)

Both the suit and rocket trident were built by Eddie in the workshop of a special effects prop-master. Imagine what he could do in a proper engineering laboratory...

SAMPLES
Link to threads which you feel showcase your grasp on the character.
SAMPLE 1. Bakerstreet: Text Messages transitioning to In-Person Action
I probably had too many NPCs to juggle in this thread, but I feel it's a pretty good showcase of the give-and-take needed for a fight scene. It was also off-the-cuff -- the other player and I did not DM during the thread itself to plan anything out (though of course I am willing to do so).
SAMPLE 2. Bakerstreet: Text Messages to In-Person Discussion
This thread is more of a display of how Eddie's mind works -- when presented with a problem, he'll throw himself into solving it.
